Hockey Alberta- Intro to Hockey U7 and U9

Hockey Alberta- Intro To Hockey

Please make sure your child has the necessary gear for practices and games, including:

  • Helmet with face cage
  • Shoulder pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Shin guards
  • Jill or Jock
  • Hockey skates
  • Stick
  • Neck guard
  • Practice Jersey & socks
  • Water bottle- preferably with a spout so they’re able to drink through the cage.

A team jersey will be provided on game days.  If you’re unsure about any equipment, please reach out to your team manager or coach.

Proper equipment isn't just a rule — it's how we keep every player safe. All gear must meet current CSA, Hockey Canada, and Hockey Alberta standards for the player's age group. Certification alone isn't enough, parents & players must ensure that equipment fits correctly. Helmets and facial protection must display legible CSA certification markings at all times. Damaged, cracked, or structurally compromised equipment must be replaced immediately — no exceptions. These standards apply at every practice and every game, because safety doesn't take a day off.
